After Johnny and Jimmy left, Brian went and sat on the couch. Matt was really giving him hell about Maia and he was taking the full consequences of it. Zacky was tuning his guitar and I sat on the other side of the couch watching him.
"So when are we meeting her?" asked Matt.
"Eventually..." responded Syn.
"Matt, leave Brian alone..." I said.
"Aww come on Kate..." Matt laughed.
I rolled my eyes and got up.
"How's Val by the way, Matt?" I questioned.
Matt looked at me and shook his head.
"She's fine..." he said a bit uncertain.
Zacky got up and put his guitar down. I looked at him as he walked towards the door.
"Where you going?" asked Matt.
"I need a break.." replied Zacky.
Matt shook his head and went on his laptop. Zacky walked out the door and into the driveway. Syn just laid down on the couch and closed his eyes.
"You guys are boring..." I laughed and got up and went out into the driveway.
Zacky stood in the middle of the driveway, trying to light his cigarette. As I walked up to him, he turned and smiled.
" 'I need a break' that's your excuse?" I asked standing next to him.
"I don't know...I guess..." he replied, inhaling and exhaling the smoke of his cigarette.
I shook my head and walked over to the car. Zacky watched as I sat on the trunk and looked over at him. He smiled and walked over.
"So...what's been going on in your mind lately?" he questioned, throwing the cig on the ground and stepping on it.
"What do you mean?" I answered.
"I mean...what do you think about the band...your brother...school...us...your parents..."
"What do you mean..'us'?" I snicked slightly.
"Well...you know..."
"Zachary James Baker...honestly!" I looked at him as he looked down.
I lifted his chin and looked straight into his eyes. He smirked and I shook my head.
"You know...Matt's been writing a new song..." said Zacky looking away.
"Really?"
"Yeah...it's really good..."
I looked at him and then up at the sky. I knew he wanted to get closer to me...and I felt the same way about him, but I had to be careful.
"Hey Zacky...Kaitlyn..." yelled a female voice.
We both looked over and saw Valary DiBenedetto walking up the driveway. She stopped and looked between Zacky and myself.
"Where's Matt?" she asked smiling.
"Inside...harrassing Brian..." replied Zacky.
"Oh...thanks..." she smiled and walked into the garage.
"VAL!" yelled Matt, coming out of the basement and into the garage.
"Hey!" she yelled back laughing.
They hugged and kissed when Syn came out and shook his head.
"Wow you two..."
He walked over and stood next to Zacky. I was still on the car, when Matt looked over.
"Hey Zach, I got that song all written out. Come in and check it out." he said excitedly.
Val and Matt walked into the basement, when Brian turned to us.
"This is when the fun begins..." he said and walked into the basement as well.
I jumped off the trunk and started to walk in.
"Kate..."
I turned and looked at Zacky who was now leaning against the car.
"What?" I asked walking back a few steps.
He looked up at me and smiled. He then opened his arms towards me. I shook my head and walked over to him. He wrapped his arms around me and held me tight.
"Ready to go inside?" he asked looking at me.
I nodded and started to break apart from his grasp, when we looked eachother in the eyes and kissed. I pulled away quickly and he looked at me confused.
"We shouldn't..." I started when he cut me off.
"Who gives a fuck?" he said and leaned in to kiss me again.
"Oh isn't this lovely?" came a shrill voice.
We both looked over to see where the voice came from and I almost started to cry.
