I grew up with my older brother Matt, who was seen in an adult's eyes as a bad influence for me since he was notorious for his disorderly conduct and misbehavior, but to me he was my idol and best friend. Along with my brother was his friend Zach. Zach wasn't really liked by my parents that much because of the fact that he had grudges against many people who doubted his success. As a matter of fact, I had always had a crush on Zach since the day Matt brought him over to hang out in the basement. Zach was a lefty and played guitar. One day him and Matt decided to start a band, in which he was also responsible for the creation of the acronym "A7X". Stating that the 'A' stood for avenged, and then the 7 stood for 7 and the X was for fold . When they named the band "Avenged Sevenfold" I thought it was an interesting name, especially when I met the other members...
***Flashback 9 years ago (1999)***
"Kaitlyn!" screamed Matt.
"What?!"
"GET YOUR ASS IN HERE!"
I ran into the room and looked at my brother and Zach sitting on the couch in the basement. There were three new guys I had never seen before. I looked at each one of them. Two of them looked like they were Matt and Zach's age of 18, while the other one looked about my age of 16.
"Kait...this is Johnny, Jimmy and Brian..." stated Zach.
I looked at each one of the guys when the member named Brian stuck out his hand.
"You can call me Synyster..." he said.
"Nice to meet you.." I smiled, shaking his hand.
"I'm Jimmy, but they call me the Reverend..." said the guy next to Synyster.
"Okay..." I said, a little interested in the names.
"I'm Johnny, but I get called Johnny Christ..."
I looked at all three guys and smiled. I turned to Zach and Matt.
"What are your nicknames?" I laughed, not expecting an answer.
"Zacky Vengeance and M. Shadows..." replied Zach, pointing to himself and Matt.
"Oh sure...you get cool names..." I laughed.
Matt shook his head and went over to the mic. I went over and sat on the couch, when the guys all sat around and began to play a new song they had just wrote called "To End the Rapture". Synyster was amazing on guitar, while Johnny and Rev rocked it out on bass and drums. I looked over at Matt and saw him for the first time it seemed, having fun. I shook my head and laughed, when Zacky came over and sat on the couch next to me. I tried hard not to blush, but I ended up losing that battle. After the guys practiced for about an hour or so, dinner was ready. Matt went upstairs, followed closely by Rev, Synyster and Johnny. I started to follow when Zacky stopped me.
"Kait..." he said.
I turned and looked at him.
"Whatsup?" I asked.
He walked over to me and looked down.
"Zacky..." I said, lifting his head. "What's wrong?"
